Answer: Broker - Title Products Agreement

Description: 

Agreement allows a broker to offer Landgate's title products for sale, with the broker responsible for the sale, but the product provided from Landgate online via the broker web service direct to the broker's system.

Permitted use: 

  • external provision of Landgate's title products only (not internal use of broker).

Example: 

My business wants the convenience of sourcing Certificates of Title via the broker web service to onsell to the conveyancing industry for use in land transactions.

Answer: Broker - Commercial Products Agreement

Description: 

Agreement allows a broker to offer Landgate's commercial products for sale, with the broker responsible for the sale, but the product provided from Landgate via the online broker web service direct to the broker's system.

Permitted use: 

  • external provision of Landgate's commercial products only (not internal use of broker).

Example: 

My business wants to onsell Landgate's property interest report to prospective home buyers.

Answer: Distribute Agreement

Description: 

Agreement allows a distributor to purchase Landgate's products and resell them to its consumers (or offer its consumers a catalogue of Landgate's products it can sell on demand). A distributor may purchase the Landgate products at a discounted wholesale rate. We welcome innovation as to the products you may want to distribute. 

Permitted use: 

  • external use (internal use may be possible).

Example: 

My business wants to sell and market Landgate's topographic maps to third party consumers via my website.

Answer: SLIP subscription license

Description: 

Licence is for those customers that want to subscribe online to 24-hour access to Landgate's products that are accessible via the Shared Location Information Platform (SLIP).

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • limited external use permitted
  • a consultant may also use the product solely for the licensee's benefit.

Example: 

My consultancy business wants access to up to date aerial imagery for it’s clients.

Answer: Location Information Subscription Licence

Description: 

Licence is for those customers that want to subscribe to certain products and receive updates at an agreed frequency throughout the year.

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • limited external use permitted
  • a consultant may also use the product solely for the licensee's benefit.

Example: 

My consultancy business requires regular updates of cadastral data for project work for clients.

Answer: Transaction licence

Description: 

Licence is for those customers that purchase information in a single transaction without ongoing updates.

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • any external use requires additional approval
  • a consultant engaged by a licensee may use the product solely for the licensee's benefit, or alternately, a consultant may be the licensee and use the product for one client only.

Example: 

My consultancy business wants to purchase aerial imagery on behalf of its client.

Answer: Transaction Licence & Publication Licence

Description: 

Transaction Licence is required for those customers that want to purchase data products in a single transaction without ongoing updates. For those that want to externalise or publish the purchased products a Publication Licence may be required.

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • any external use requires additional approval – Publication Licence
  • a consultant engaged by a licensee may use the product solely for the licensee's benefit, or alternately, a consultant may be the licensee and use the product for one client only.

Example: 

My business would like to display aerial imagery on our external facing website.

Answer: Value Added Reseller(VAR) Agreement - SPUR Start-up

Description: 

Licence is for customers who have an innovative concept that requires Landgate product/s and meet SPUR Start-up criteria;

Permitted use: 

  • development and testing;
  • limited commercialisation

Example: 

I am a customer who would like to use Landgate's aerial imagery within our business for the purpose of developing software with the intention of commercialisation.

Answer: Value Added Reseller(VAR) - Data Agreement

Description: 

Agreement allows a value-added reseller (VAR) to create and on-provide products derived from Landgate data.

Permitted use: 

  • internal and external use of the products
  • ability to create new products by adding value to Landgate's existing products.

Example: 

My business wants to use Landgate's sales data combined with its own data and imagery to then onsell to real estate agents and the general public.

Answer: Commercial Value Added Reseller (VAR) licence

Description: 

Agreement allows a value-added reseller (VAR) to create new products for use by their customers by value adding and on-selling our products within, or as a part of, their product offerings.  We welcome innovation as to the products that you may want to value-add.

Permitted use: 

  • internal and external use of the product
  • ability to create new products by adding value to Landgate’s existing products.

Example: 

My business wants to use Landgate's topographic products, combined with my own 4wd trail maps to create a definitive Trail Map for my customers.

Answer: SLIP trial licence

Description: 

Licence is for customers that want to trial, for a limited time only, access to Landgate's selected products accessible on the Shared Location Information Platform (SLIP).

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • any use is limited to trial, testing and development of Landgate's selected SLIP products.

Example: 

I am a GIS officer that would like to test and sample the capabilities of Landgate's products accessible via SLIP, prior to subscribing.

Answer: Location Information Sample Licence

Description: 

Licence is for customers that want to trial for a limited time only, a sample of Landgate's products.

Permitted use: 

  • internal business use only
  • any use is limited to trial, testing and development of the product.

Example: 

I am a customer who would like to use Landgate's aerial imagery within our business for the purpose of developing and would like to test this for compatibility before committing to purchasing the product.

Answer: Publication licence

Description: 

Licence provides customers with approval to publish or externalise Landgate's products, whether digitally, online or in hard copy.

Permitted use: 

  • external use, beyond the internal business use of an individual or business.

Example: 

I am an honour’s student wanting to publish Landgate aerial imagery in my thesis.

Access and approval

The use of all Landgate data is governed by terms and conditions which may be displayed in a copyright notice, an online ‘click accept’ licence, or detailed in a more comprehensive hard copy licence.

Whether you wish to trial our data and products, use them for business, educational or personal use, or on-sell them to your clients, you will need a licence. If you already know that type you need, just click on the button below to source the relevant application form.
