Capture WA

Capture WA is an ongoing complimentary service available to all government agencies that saves time and money on public sector location data acquisition and imagery captures. Landgate manages the Capture WA Program on behalf of WA government agencies who rely on location data for their day-to-day business. Participation in the program is available to public sector agencies.

On behalf of government, Landgate has negotiated a State Government contract with a broad list of suppliers to secure the best deal, eliminating the need for individual contractual arrangements, ensuring the IP remains with the State, and saving government money.

The program components include:

  • A panel contract for procuring data, eliminating the need for individual tender processes. The Capture WA team at Landgate will obtain the quotes and manage the contract on your behalf, while you manage the relationship with the provider.
  • Coordination and planning of the location data acquisition for the state, considering the overall need of the participating government agencies. The Capture WA team works with the WALIS community to assess and endorse capture requirements for the state.
  • The Capture WA register, is an online catalogue of capture requests and notification of independent capture which also gives an overview of the recent and planned capture. Agencies who wish to use the group buying power of the Capture WA panel contract should submit their location data requirements to the  Capture WA Register.
  • An online procurement site for suppliers to provide quotes and technical specifications for the capture, allowing use of latest technology.

By collaborating with Landgate and our WALIS partner agencies in Capture WA, your agency will have an opportunity to demonstrate to government and the community how it is contributing to improved services at reduced costs.

Visit Capture WA for further information, join the community forum or email Capture WA if you would like to discuss how you can use the Capture Program.
