Earth is Art – thinking outside the frame
Landgate’s Earth is Art range is being expanded to include various other exciting products.
The Earth is Art commercial series will include many new applications for the product including wall murals and kitchen splashbacks.
A sample wall mural in Landgate’s Midland office was installed recently. The wall features an image from a new collection yet to be released titled ‘Abrolhos Rat Island’.
Landgate also recently helped a customer turn an Earth is Art image into a kitchen splashback. Landgate helped manage the project from the image selection and consultation phase, through to the image and glass production; and finally the installation.

SPUR start-up assistance program helps launch new WA product
SPUR has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of the first product to market under its start-up assistance program.
Landgate Deputy Chief Executive Jodi Cant said Western Australian start-up PropertySMS approached SPUR after learning about the services it offers to start-ups and entrepreneurs working on location based products and services.
"PropertySMS successfully applied for a SPUR developer's licence which gave it access to Landgate datasets," Ms Cant said.
"This data as well as assistance from SPUR business consultants helped PropertySMS accelerate its idea to develop an application that enables real estate agents to notify interested people via SMS of property sales in their area."
"This is a great example of a government agency working with the private sector to grow innovative ideas to further the economy."
The application puts a geofenced range around the address of an agent's potential customer contact. When a property sells within that boundary, PropertySMS automatically generates a personalised message to the potential customer. The agent need only press 'send' to deliver the message. PropertySMS delivers information of interest to the customer in a familiar, readily accessible way and provides real estate agents with a new streamlined method of agent-client contact, saving them time and money.
PropertySMS founder Ryan Norrish said SPUR had helped his business' dream become a reality.
"SPUR's business knowledge and support were invaluable and I'd highly recommend its programs to other start-ups looking to develop location based ideas," Mr Norrish said.
The successful Western Australian launch of PropertySMS was supported by SPUR on 30 November 2016.

Landgate customers are at the heart of everything we do. Because of this, we were thrilled to discover that 80 per cent of our customers have rated Landgate eight, nine or 10 out of 10 for overall customer satisfaction. We’re very proud of this achievement and look forward to building on this in 2017.
2016 included highlights such as launching Western Australia’s location and innovation hub, SPUR, as well as our new agricultural product Pastures from Space Plus. We received national recognition for our innovative culture by ranking #22 in the Financial Review’s most innovative companies list. There were more than 1,000 entries from across the nation and only one government agency, CSIRO, ranked ahead of us. We were also the proud recipient of a Premier’s Award for our New Land Registry in the category for developing the economy.
We look forward to working with you in 2017.
