Leading change. Looking beyond
‘Leading change. Looking beyond’, is the theme of Landgate’s annual report for the 2016-17 financial year. The report was tabled in the WA Parliament on 11 October 2017 and details how we achieved a profit of $26 million despite property market activity falling by approximately nine per cent.
Other achievements noted in the report include our subsidiary Advara providing Landgate’s new land registry (NLR™) platform and expertise to other jurisdictions. A new plan lodgement function was also delivered through the NLR™ which reduced turnaround times for new Certificates of Title.
SPUR celebrated its one-year anniversary. Nine SPURonWA grants were awarded and four start-ups were launched to market.
Once again, we achieved excellent customer service with 78 per cent of those surveyed rating us eight, nine or 10 out of 10 for overall satisfaction.
Chief Executive Jodi Cant said it had been a significant year in Landgate’s history with our agency marking 10 years since it became a statutory authority.
“I would like to thank the heart of our organisation – our people. Their commitment to this business ensures we continue to create value for our customers and community in everything we do,” Ms Cant said.
Hillarys boat Harbour 1986 to now
This month marks the 31st anniversary of the opening of Hillarys Boat Harbour.
At the time, it was promoted as Perth’s premier harbour and tourist precinct. Construction of the harbour began in September 1985 with the boat launching facilities opened to the public in October 1986. Boats started moving into the pen moorings two months later – just in time for the 1987 America’s Cup defence.
