National Mortgage Form

The National Mortgage Form is an electronic form that replaces a number of paper forms that Landgate and other states’ land registries require in the lodgement of mortgage details. It replaces all other mortgage instruments.

Flowing from an agreement of the Council of Australian Governments' (COAG) national seamless economy, the National Mortgage Form is part of a larger movement to bring land registration into the digital age. It is a faster, more secure and more logically arranged process.

To use the Western Australian form users need to register for secure login, protected by a complex password (at least eight characters, one digit, one symbol). Registering your details will allow the system to pre-populate the preparer fields when you create a new form.

The National Mortgage Form in paper has been in use since May 2017. The online version is live on the Landgate website and has been available in the PEXA Electronic Lodgement Network Operator environment since 22 July 2017.

The electronic National Mortgage Form will make the lodgement of mortgages quicker and easier by:

  • integrating with the Address Verification Service
  • being able to be saved to a user’s account so it can be later edited before lodgement
  • the ability to print or save to pdf for lodgement.

The National Mortgage Form is for use by anyone who lodges a mortgage – principally bank representatives and their agents, and for private mortgages, lawyers. In paper format, you should print the form double-sided for lodgement.

Once you save an electronic form, it will remain on your home screen until you use the bin icon to remove it.
