Pastoral leases

Pastoral leases are leases over Crown land which gives the lessee the right to graze authorised livestock on the natural vegetation.

Potential Carrying Capacity

Potential Carrying Capacity is the estimated number of livestock equivalents that can be carried annually over the long-term on a lease while maintaining or improving rangeland condition.

Pastoral Lease Rent Review

Western Australia’s pastoral lease rents are reviewed every five years by the Valuer General, in accordance with the Land Administration Act 1997 (LAA).
