First Nations Grant Guidelines

The First Nations grant is open to:

  • small to medium enterprises
  • owner-operated business
  • tech start-ups
  • emerging businesses
  • not for profit organisations.

To be an eligible applicant you will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. be a Western Australian based First Nations business
  2. have an ABN/ACN number
  3. not be a government organisation
  4. have location data as part of your project/ product/ service
  5. Your project/product/service contributes to one or more of the following areas:
    • data management and modelling
    • information sharing and collaboration
    • improved operational efficiency (e.g. process automation)
    • emerging digital technologies (e.g. digital twin or smart city capability).
  6. are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander descent and can provide Proof of Aboriginality from a recognised entity; or
  7. are an Aboriginal business and:

If you are shortlisted, you will need to pitch your idea in person. Successful applicants from the pitch event will be required to attend information sessions in WA.
