Destination information

Boasting more hours of sunshine than any other capital city in Australia, the pleasant weather and diverse mix of urban, coastal and culinary experiences make Perth a desirable destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Visit Experience Perth or Visit Perth City for more information on attractions and events.

Climate

Perth has a Mediterranean-style climate, which means that for most of the year, the weather is warm and sunny. Even during the short mild winter, the sun is often shining. These long summers mean many Perth activities revolve around the outdoors.

The mild Perth winter begins at the start of June and finishes at the end of August. It is generally a rainy season, mingled with cool sunny days. There are however occasional storms, characterised by downpours of rain, lightning or thunder.

Airport transfers

With brand new access roads and nearby free-flowing interchanges, your journey to and from Perth Airport is easy.

Get to and from the airport with the application 'Ride with Uber':

  • Request when you’re ready to walk outside and choose the ride option that suits your group size and luggage storage needs.
  • Exit on the arrivals level and head to the designated rideshare pick-up bays. This is where all Uber driver partners meet travellers for pick-up.
  • Confirm your location and when prompted by the app, enter your terminal and door number so your driver knows where to find you.

There are two rideshare pick-up bays that serve terminals 1 and 2. Walk to whichever one is closest.

Taxis are on hand 24/7 to pick up arriving passengers at the airport and it is roughly a 20-minute ride to get to Perth’s city centre. All taxis charge metered fares.

The main taxi service providers in Perth are:

Taxi ranks are located at the front of all terminals.

Public transport

The Perth metropolitan area is served by numerous buses and five train lines.

Transport within the Central Business District (CBD) is free of charge on all green Transperth buses (look for the Free Transit Zone logo at the stop), as well as the yellow, red and blue CAT buses.
